🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1954, a group of observers in Warrensburg, Missouri, spotted two objects in the night sky. One had an elongated shape and a dull red color, while the other glowed with a brighter orange hue. Both moved erratically from left to right, initially raising suspicions of unknown phenomena. However, subsequent investigations revealed they were research balloons launched from a local base. A storm in the north and poor visibility contributed to the initial confusion.
The classified Project 10073 report concluded the objects were definitely balloons, not supernatural or unknown phenomena. The Sedalia Air Base confirmed they had conducted launches in the area in the previous months, matching the witnesses' descriptions. Although the case was clearly resolved, the report's lack of photos and physical evidence reflects the typical ambiguity of UFO files from that era.
