🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An Air Force officer at Olmsted Air Force Base in Pennsylvania reported an unidentified flying object in the early hours of October 20, 1954. The witness described a round object with a blue tail, roughly the size of a baseball, leaving a luminous trail. The object appeared suddenly from the 10 o'clock position on his left and moved rapidly in front of his aircraft's nose. The observation lasted between three and five seconds, but no photos or physical evidence were obtained.
The official evaluation concluded that there was insufficient data to determine the object's nature. Possibilities such as a meteor or a jet aircraft were considered, but the description of the movement was inconclusive. The report was shared with several air intelligence units, and no satisfactory explanation was found. The case remains unresolved.
