🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A U.S. Air Force officer, Major H.V. Jenkins, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon over the North Atlantic near Labrador in November 1954. While flying an aircraft from Somdræm to Goose, Jenkins observed a blue streak of light moving in a straight line, emitting two small explosions and finally disappearing in a large explosion of bright blue light. The object made no noise, adding to its mystery. Initially considered an astronomical event or meteor, the detailed description suggests it could have been something more unusual.
The observer estimated the object to be about 18 miles away, though he acknowledged it was difficult to determine due to the lack of reference points. Jenkins, an experienced navigator, described the phenomenon as similar to a flare, but no other aircraft were reported in the area. The object was only bright blue in color and made no sound. The report concluded it was a meteor, but the nature of the event and the lack of noise make it an intriguing case in the history of UFO sightings.
