🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1954, an observer in Tennessee reported a round, silver object slowly drifting across the sky. Despite its unusual appearance, experts concluded it was a weather balloon, commonly used for atmospheric data collection. The report, part of Project 10073, noted the object did not perform maneuvers and visibility was excellent, allowing for a clear identification.
The document, though filled with OCR errors, shows how even in the 1950s, unidentified flying objects were often explained as natural or known technological phenomena. This case, though brief, reflects the analysis methodology of the time, where conventional explanations were prioritized before considering more exotic hypotheses.
