UFO in derby hat shape over Delaware

Summary

In November 1954, near New Castle AFB in Delaware, a witness observed two objects shaped like derby hats for 3 to 4 minutes. They had a white dome and three blue lights on the bottom and were seen erratically on three separate occasions. Although balloons or astronomical phenomena were initially considered, the investigation concluded it was likely two private aircraft. These types of flights don't require special clearance, making confirmation difficult.
