🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A U.S. Air Force intelligence officer reported in 1954 about a bright white object that maintained a straight and level flight path for about 10 seconds. The sighting occurred near Brunswick, Georgia, and was classified as a meteor by analysts. Although 10 seconds is an unusual duration for a meteor observation, calculations showed that the distance traveled and speed were consistent with an astronomical event. The report did not include photos or physical evidence, limiting further analysis. The officer who observed it, Captain Hardy L. from Brooklyn, described the object as basketball-sized.
