🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1954, a pilot reported a bright flash of light that briefly illuminated his cockpit. The event occurred 20 nautical miles east of Topia, New Mexico. Although the pilot was momentarily blinded, he could not identify the object with certainty. Authorities concluded it was likely a meteor or shooting star, given the fleeting nature of the phenomenon and the lack of additional evidence.
The official report includes detailed weather data and an assessment of sky conditions, supporting the theory of an astronomical event. Despite being an aerial observation, there were no photographs or further follow-ups. The case was filed as insufficient for a definitive evaluation, but it remains a curious example of how natural phenomena can be mistaken for unidentified objects.
