🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1954, a witness in Gulfport, Mississippi, spotted a round, flat gray object that appeared translucent. The object was rotating rapidly on a vertical axis and initially hovered before speeding eastward at 500-600 mph. The observer, a former Air Force navigator, provided detailed accounts of the object's movement and appearance.
The investigation suggested it might have been a wind vortex and dust, though the unidentified nature of the object remained a possibility. Weather conditions at the time did not support conventional explanations, adding to the mystery. Despite no photographs, the investigator found the eyewitness credible due to the observer's aviation expertise.
