Summary

In December 1954, an officer in Salt Lake City observed a green light for six seconds. Radar data showed two objects traveling at super-normal speeds, between 1000 and 1500 mph. The sighting combined visual and radar observations, but no photographs were taken. The conclusion pointed to possible meteor sightings, though insufficient information left the interpretation open.

The exact location was northwest of the municipal airport, and the report was sent to several military units for analysis. Although two objects were recorded, one followed a steeper trajectory than the other, suggesting an ascending and westward movement. The officer who reported the incident, 1st Lt. Ennis F. P. Miller, described clear conditions with few clouds. In the end, the case was classified as astronomical, though other possibilities were not ruled out.
