🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1955, a pilot at Tyndall AFB in Florida sighted a round object with a luminous trail. The object appeared 20 miles north of the airbase and was observed for 3-4 seconds. It was described as greenish, with a bright light and a trail 7-8 times longer than the object itself. The pilot located it 40 degrees above the horizon and saw it moving west before disappearing.
The official evaluation concluded it was likely a meteor. Visibility was excellent and there was no activity in the area to explain the sighting. Additionally, another ground witness described it as a shooting star, reinforcing the astronomical hypothesis. Although the report was shared with several military units, no evidence of unidentified activity was found.
