🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1955, a witness in Salona Beach, California, observed an object that initially appeared as a light blue sphere. This object split into two, and both continued flying side by side in a straight path. The observer described the objects as silent and resembling a magnesium flare. A second witness in Mt. Laguna saw an elongated object with a tail, the size of a pea, with white and blue lights. Although balloon or aircraft possibilities were considered, investigators concluded it was an astronomical meteor. The description and duration of the sighting support this interpretation, although no photos were taken and radar was not used.
