🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1955, a pilot reported a bright object south of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The sighting lasted only one second, and the object disappeared quickly. Although no photos were taken and no further details were available, investigators concluded it was likely a meteor. The lack of concrete information and the brief nature of the event led to ruling out other explanations such as balloons or aircraft.
The official Project 10073 record card labeled the observation as "probably astronomical," without reaching a definitive conclusion. A pilot from Flying Tigers confirmed seeing something bright but could not describe it accurately. Weather and wind conditions at the time showed no anomalies, supporting the theory of a natural phenomenon. Despite the short duration of the sighting, the case was carefully documented, including weather details and the exact location of the observation.
