🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1955, multiple witnesses in San Diego reported unidentified flying objects displaying red and white lights. One notable case involved an object appearing as a blinking light, alternating between red and white, and moving rapidly about 3-4 miles. Initially thought to be Mars, astronomical calculations ruled this out. The object was also considered a balloon or meteor, but ultimately classified as an aircraft. Other sightings described blue streaks forming geometric patterns, attributed to meteor showers or airport lights.
In another case, a civilian witness observed a red light turning white with no visible wings. Despite no photos, investigators concluded it was likely an aircraft. These cases reflect the confusion and varied interpretations of unexplained aerial phenomena in the 1950s.
