🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1955, a witness in Missouri saw a metallic object reflecting sunlight that appeared to hover at high altitude. The object, described as a 100-foot diameter disc, was observed for a few seconds while the witness was driving along a highway. Although no photos were taken, the investigating officer concluded it was likely a weather balloon recently released in the area. This explanation was supported by air intelligence, which suggested other nearby sightings around the same time and location could also be related to the balloons. Despite the brief nature of the sighting, the official report indicated no further investigation was needed due to the lack of additional data.
