🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A large, bubbling, steaming mass fell from the sky over Baltimore, Maryland, in February 1955. Observed by at least 25 people, the phenomenon lasted several hours and generated significant curiosity. The object, described as resembling giant soap bubbles, gradually disintegrated, leaving a yellow residue on the ground. Initial analysis suggested it might be linked to industrial detergents used by a local railroad company. While other explanations like balloons or astronomical events were considered, the official conclusion leaned toward a terrestrial cause, though no definitive answer was reached.
The Air Force investigated the case, collecting residue samples for analysis at ATIC. Witnesses reported no physical harm, and some even touched the object without effects. The ephemeral nature of the phenomenon and lack of clear photographic evidence added to the mystery. Despite investigations, the true cause remains unknown, though the most plausible theories point to an accidental chemical reaction or an industrial experiment.
