🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1955, a witness in Illinois reported seeing three balloon-shaped objects, each about 20 feet long. Two were near the ground and one at 500 feet. Each object had eight red lights and white lights at the ends, and one even projected a red cross for five minutes. The observer, driving a vehicle, noted that the objects flew parallel to him for 10 minutes, about five feet above the ground. Despite the duration of the sighting, there were no photographs or radar involved.
The official conclusion pointed to a reflection phenomenon, possibly caused by the observer's fatigue, who had been driving from 17:00 to 23:00. By daylight, the objects had disappeared, reinforcing the theory that it was an optical illusion. Although the details are intriguing, the lack of physical evidence and consistency with fatigue symptoms suggest this case does not align with typical UFO sightings.
