🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1955, a civilian woman observed a shiny object from the back porch of her house in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The object appeared to be hovering over nearby hills near an old rock quarry. The next day, an Air Force aircraft, number 8146, flew over the area and identified the silver wreckage of an aircraft at the exact location of the sighting. Due to this immediate identification as a reflection from aircraft wreckage, no further investigation was authorized.
The official conclusion was that there was insufficient data for evaluation, and the case was dismissed as a reflection from the aircraft debris. Although a balloon or astronomical phenomenon was mentioned as possibilities, none were confirmed. The file contains no additional details, and the case remains unresolved.
