🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A member of the Ground Observer Corps reported an unusual aerial phenomenon in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on April 27, 1955. The object appeared as a bright light that changed shape and color over 50 minutes. It started as round, then elongated into a cigar shape, and finally took a boomerang-like form. The light alternated between white, red, and green, and at the end resembled a distant star. The witness, using only regular glasses, reported no sound, no tail, and no trail. The official report considered it possibly Jupiter, but no definitive explanation was reached.
The report included weather data and an interview with the observer, who worked as an administrative clerk and had no formal aircraft identification training. A meteorologist confirmed no storms or unusual conditions. Despite the duration and clarity of the sighting, no conclusive explanation was found. The case was closed without further investigation, but remains an example of how civilian observers reported unexplained phenomena during the Cold War.
