🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1955, a witness on Bear Island, Maine, spotted an object with an indeterminate, shiny, metallic shape. The object left a short vapor trail before exploding, without making any sound. Although Air Force interceptors were scrambled, they failed to spot anything. The observation lasted between 15 and 20 minutes, and the object was at a great altitude.
The Air Force concluded it was not a military or commercial aircraft. The sighting was linked to a training exercise involving flares. However, the report could not definitively identify the object, adding mystery to this case.
