🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1955, a police officer in Kennewick, Washington, reported seeing a shiny, metallic spherical object. The witness claimed the object stopped in the air, emitting a "chug chug" sound, before disappearing at high speed. Although a balloon was considered a possible explanation, authorities deemed the report unreliable due to the delay in reporting and the witness's interest in UFOs.
The official investigation concluded the object might have been a weather balloon, common in the area. However, the report noted that the witness, a UFO enthusiast, had an active imagination and strong beliefs in unexplained aerial phenomena. Despite doubts, it was suggested the witness be informed about proper channels for future sightings and thanked for his interest in the subject.
