In June and July 1955, a witness in Fontana, California, reported seeing round objects in the night sky. These appeared in red flashing or yellow steady colors, and were usually one or two in number. The observation lasted between 10 and 15 minutes. Although no photos were taken, the report suggests the witness saw aircraft lights and nearby beacons. The observer's location was surrounded by airfields and a flight path over their home.

The analysis concluded these were not balloons or astronomical objects, but rather conventional lights.
