🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1955, an observer in Poulsbo, Washington, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon. She saw three lighted objects that changed color between pink and blue, with two small ones and one large one. The main object moved up and down for an hour, which drew attention due to its duration and behavior. Although no photos were taken, the witness was a trained observer, adding credibility to the report. The Air Force investigated and ruled out the presence of aircraft or air activity in the area.
The investigation concluded that it was likely a weather balloon launched from a nearby naval base. Wind conditions at the time indicated the balloon could have drifted toward Poulsbo, and its up-and-down movement explained the observed motion. While not confirmed with certainty, the available data supported the balloon explanation. This case shows how natural or known phenomena are often mistaken for unidentified objects.
