In the 1950s, the CIA and other U.S. agencies worked hard to identify unidentified flying objects. Documents show that in many cases, it was impossible to identify witnesses or obtain clear information about sightings. Despite efforts, most cases remained unresolved. The methodology included tracking witness data, but key details were often missing.
The files also reveal that the CIA collaborated with agencies like the Air Force Technical Intelligence Center to record UFO reports. These records included observations from other countries and the U.S. Although 1955 highlighted that Mars would be closer than usual, aiding potential observations, most reports still lacked concrete conclusions. The goal was to keep officials informed on recent publications, but the lack of solid data continued.
