🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1955, a witness in Holt, Florida, reported seeing a disc-shaped object with a blue-white color and 10 to 14 blinking lights. The sighting lasted between 5 and 10 minutes, and the object remained stationary above the treetops. The weather conditions were stormy, with lightning and some rain. Although the report was submitted by both a civilian and a military observer, officials deemed it unreliable due to the witness's history of making false reports. The official investigation concluded that the sighting had no basis, and the case was filed without further action.
The evaluation was based on the witness's reputation, an airman who had previously reported non-existent objects. This led authorities to dismiss the report without conducting a deeper investigation. Although additional forms were requested to gather more information, they were never processed. The case reflects how military authorities often treated UFO reports with skepticism, especially when coming from sources considered unreliable.
