🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1955, a U.S. Air Force KC-97 reported an unidentified object near Newfoundland. The pilot and crew observed a bright object moving erratically and rapidly, even surpassing the speed of propeller-driven aircraft. Although initially thought to be a weather balloon, the data didn't fully align. The object was sighted and tracked for almost an hour, maintaining unusual movements and sudden directional changes. The crew confirmed there were no clouds or reflections that could explain the sighting, creating some mystery.
Air Force authorities concluded it might have been an electronic phenomenon or an optical illusion caused by the atmosphere. However, the testimonies of multiple crew members and radar data suggest the event deserves more attention. Although no definitive explanation was reached, the case was filed as insufficient for a conclusive evaluation. The official document includes detailed testimonies from the pilots and officers involved, who accurately describe the object's movements and unexpected behavior.
