In July 1955, a civilian witness in Penbrook, Pennsylvania, reported seeing a saucer-shaped object that was silver and gold for three minutes. The object appeared to move up and down before disappearing. No photos were taken. Authorities assessed the reliability of the report and concluded it was unreliable. Three reports were received, two of which were considered fantastic. Despite the investigation, there was not enough data for a clear evaluation, and it was dismissed as a balloon or aircraft.
