🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1955, a witness in Newport Beach, California, observed an unidentified flying object (UFO) moving slowly across the sky. The object, described as grayish and round, was estimated to be about 2000 feet above the ground. As the observer watched, the UFO rotated on its axis before disappearing into a cloud. Although several explanations such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were considered, no definitive conclusion was reached due to insufficient data.
The Air Force report ordered a limited follow-up investigation into the sighting. However, without additional information, possible causes could not be confirmed or ruled out. This case, like many from that era, highlights the difficulty investigators faced in identifying the observed objects, leaving questions that continue to intrigue many today.
