In July 1955, two California physicians on vacation in Madrid, Spain, reported observing an unidentified flying object. According to their account, they saw a perfectly round and solid object flying across the sky from west to east. The object maintained a straight course and appeared to accelerate as it passed over the city before disappearing over the horizon. It was estimated to be between 100 and 200 feet in diameter. The witnesses, initially skeptical, attempted to photograph the object, but no images were received.
