🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A green phosphorescent cigar-shaped object with sparks was sighted near Ishpeming, Michigan, in August 1955. A witness observed it for three to five seconds from inside their car, estimating it to be around 150 feet above the ground. The object vanished behind trees. Due to the short duration, lack of sound, and sparks, investigators considered the possibility of a meteor. However, the color and shape description didn't fully match known natural phenomena.
The information arrived with a three-day delay, complicating data collection. A similar sighting was reported shortly after, but with few additional details. Military authorities filed the case without a definitive conclusion, leaving open the possibility of an astronomical event or something more unusual.
