🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1955, a civilian in Riceville, Iowa, observed a luminous object in the sky for over three hours. The object appeared round and emitted red, green, and white colors, without making any sound. The sighting was made with the naked eye from the ground, without radar or photographs. Despite the long duration of the observation, there was no confirmation that the object was a balloon, an aircraft, or a specific astronomical phenomenon.
Researchers concluded it was likely an astronomical event, possibly related to the star Arcturus, whose disappearance time coincided with the object's. However, no additional data or other witnesses were recorded, leaving the situation without a definitive resolution. The case was archived as insufficient for a conclusive evaluation, but with a strong inclination toward an astronomical explanation.
