🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1955, a 39-year-old woman in Teddington, England, observed an elliptical silver object descending smoothly and gradually. The witness, a seamstress wearing Polaroid sunglasses, described the object as bright and without erratic movements. The sighting lasted between 4 and 5 minutes, but the object disappeared as the observer drove through a wooded area. Although several explanations were considered, such as sun reflections or balloons, there was not enough information to reach a conclusive evaluation.
The official U.S. Air Force report, processed by the 9th Air Force Command, indicated no clear conventional explanation. Aircraft, balloons, and astronomical phenomena were ruled out, but the final report concluded that the data was insufficient. This case, like many from the era, reflects the Air Force's difficulty in identifying unidentified objects with certainty.
