🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1955, a witness in Hawthorne, California, reported a bright object that appeared from the north, rose overhead, and then moved westward. The sighting lasted approximately 10 minutes, but the observer could not determine the object's size, shape, speed, or altitude. Due to the duration of the sighting and the bobbing effect of the object, investigators considered the possibility that it was a balloon. However, no definitive conclusions could be reached.
The report mentions that there were no photographs or radar involved, and the witness was an employee of American Airlines. Clear weather conditions and wind patterns at different altitudes were recorded, which could have been compatible with a balloon. Although the possibility of the Goodyear blimp was mentioned, it could not be confirmed. In the end, it was concluded that there was not enough information to evaluate the object's nature with certainty.
