🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round, bright, white-yellow object was observed by eight people in northwest Atlanta, Georgia, in September 1955. The object, described as resembling a light bulb, caught attention due to its intense brightness, surpassing any known light. The sighting lasted between 45 seconds and one minute, and the object moved southwest, following a path similar to the moon's trajectory.
The investigation concluded that the object was not a balloon, an astronomical phenomenon, or a conventional aircraft. Instead, it was identified as a B-36, a strategic bomber of the era, equipped with a scanner light operating from a side blister. Although the photographic flash was not used and the aircraft did not report the sighting, the altitude and flight direction matched the observer's data. This resolution shows how what seemed an unexplained phenomenon turned out to be an unknown military technology.
