🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1955, a witness in Baltimore, Maryland, observed ten white, round objects moving in a line heading north. The objects, seen for seven minutes, displayed unusual behaviors: they broke apart, emitted smoke, changed shape, and flickered. Initially considered a possible astronomical event or balloon, investigators concluded it might be a flock of birds, possibly geese. The detailed description and observers' reactions reflect the confusion and interest of the era regarding unexplained phenomena.
The report, part of Project 10073, was processed by several military and intelligence units, including the Air Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson. The witness, a 59-year-old woman, used sunglasses during the observation, suggesting clear weather conditions. Despite official attention, no photographs or radar data were taken, limiting further evaluation. The case, though unresolved, reflects the methodological approach of the time for analyzing UFO sightings.
