🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round and transparent object was observed in Vermillion, Ohio, on September 22, 1955. The sighting lasted 20 minutes, and the object remained stationary at an altitude between 5,000 and 10,000 feet. The witness, an experienced woman, reported no sound and described it as resembling a basketball. Although a balloon was considered, it was not confirmed.
The lack of noise and unusual appearance generated some surprise, but the report classified the event as "possibly a balloon." No photos or radar were used, limiting analysis. This case, like many from the era, reflects the confusion between natural phenomena and unidentified objects.
