🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1955, two 15-year-old girls in Shelby, Iowa, reported seeing unidentified flying objects for over an hour. The objects were spherical, white, and shiny, with one dropping a small parachute. Initially thought to be aircraft, the observers noted no sound or trail. Investigators from Project 10073 concluded it was a weather balloon with a radiosonde, supported by the recovery of a paper parachute with equipment in a nearby field. However, the multiple sightings and the balloon's unusual behavior raised questions, especially due to the observers' inexperience.
