🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1955, a witness in Springfield, Illinois, observed a star-shaped object moving east. The sighting lasted 2 to 3 minutes, and while an aircraft was considered, there was not enough data to reach a definitive conclusion. The report, under Project 10073, included no photos or radar and was recorded as a ground visual observation.
The object was described as a "bright light moving east," which generated some interest, but researchers could not determine its nature. Explanations like balloons, astronomical objects, or conventional aircraft were ruled out. The final report concluded with "insufficient data for evaluation," a common response when the phenomenon could not be identified. This case, like many others, remains unresolved in the project's files.
