🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1955, a military officer and two civilians at Earnest Harmon AFB observed a luminous object that initially appeared as a falling star. The object stopped, swayed, and made abrupt directional changes multiple times. Despite its unusual behavior, investigators concluded it could be a weather balloon. The observation lasted 15 to 20 minutes, and the object disappeared after a rapid vertical ascent. Witnesses agreed its speed exceeded that of any known jet aircraft.
The report includes weather and air activity details. A weather balloon had been launched shortly before, though its transmitter failed. Wind patterns and direction matched the observer's described path. Despite no aircraft being found in the area, the object remained unidentified. Its erratic movement, with stops and sudden changes, raised doubts about whether it was a natural or artificial phenomenon.
