🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1955, a witness in Yuma, Arizona, observed approximately 12 pale lights traveling in a southeast direction. The lights formed a wide "V" shape, with three of them in an echelon formation. The sighting lasted between 3 and 4 seconds, and the lights gradually became smaller and dimmer before fading away. The report suggests the observer may have seen a meteor shower or a small band of asteroids entering Earth's atmosphere. Although no photos were taken, the duration of the sighting and the estimated altitude support an astronomical explanation.
The lack of additional data and the inability to confirm with images led to the case being classified as "possibly astronomical". This type of sighting, while unusual, is not uncommon in the history of UFO reports, where natural phenomena are often mistaken for unidentified objects.
