🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1955, a witness in Zonguldak, Turkey, reported seeing three triangular objects with rectangular shapes and tapered ends. These objects, resembling sails or clouds with sunlight reflecting on them, slowly ascended from the horizon and disappeared toward the north. Each object was observed for about 15 seconds, and the first appeared between 15 and 20 degrees below the horizon. Although no lights, noise, or exhaust trail were observed, the three objects did not show any formation or coordinated movement.
Investigators concluded that the sighting could be attributed to atmospheric inversion or refraction phenomena, given the presence of a heavy overcast. Despite the objects being seen over water, no definitive identification as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical events was possible. The lack of photographs or additional data limited the evaluation, and the case was archived without a clear explanation.
