🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1955 report describes an object detected by MATS radar that climbed from 15,000 to 30,000 feet in just five minutes. It was first observed over Marianna, Florida, and last seen over Maxwell AFB in Alabama. Although the possibility of a balloon or aircraft was considered, the data was insufficient for a conclusive evaluation. The report does not include photos or civilian or military observer testimonies, making it difficult to definitively identify the phenomenon.
Weather conditions in the area indicated strong winds at different altitudes, but there were no storms or extreme conditions that could explain the object's rapid ascent. Visibility was good, and the cloud ceiling was at 3,500 feet. Despite the meteorological data, the object could not be identified, and the report concludes with the signature of Officer Golinsky, who certifies the collected data.
