🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1955, a witness in Charleston, South Carolina, observed a glowing object emitting a yellow and reddish hue, with an elongated shape. The object made no sound and appeared to move slowly at a high altitude, resembling an exhaust trail. The sighting lasted between 20 and 25 minutes, but no photos or additional data were recorded. The observation occurred during dusk, complicating the object's identification.
Investigators considered various possibilities, including a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon, but concluded there was insufficient information to determine its nature. Venus was not visible at the time, ruling out an obvious astronomical explanation. Despite attention from air intelligence personnel, the case remains unresolved, adding a touch of mystery to this late 1950s sighting.
