🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1956, a witness in Battlecreek, Michigan, observed a round reddish-white object for 20 minutes. The sighting was recorded as ground visual and radar, but no photos were taken. The object was flying straight at an elevation of 40 degrees and heading southeast. Although a balloon was considered, no clear movement or direction was reported, leading to the case being labeled as insufficient for evaluation.
The report, part of Project 10073, provided no additional data to identify the object. It noted that three aircraft were flying east in the area, but none were linked to the sighting. The official report concluded there was not enough information to determine if it was a balloon, an astronomical event, or a conventional aircraft.
