🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1956, a witness in North Hollywood, California, reported a round object the size of a pea, white with a red ring on the edge. The object remained stationary in the sky, drawing the observer's attention. Although no photos were taken, the witness described the phenomenon in detail. The official conclusion suggested it was an airways beacon, a common device for guiding flights. However, the detailed description and precise location of the sighting generated some curiosity.
The report, part of Project 10073, was shared with several military units and air intelligence centers. Although the possibility of an unidentified object was dismissed, the testimony was recorded accurately. This case reflects how UFO sightings were often linked to conventional objects, though not always dismissed outright. The now-declassified file remains an interesting example of how aerial phenomena reports were handled in the 1950s.
