🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1956, at Keesler AFB in Mississippi, three objects generated curiosity and concern. They were observed from the ground, from the air, and on radar, moving east at 60 knots. After a detailed analysis using a theodolite, it was confirmed that the objects were three large plastic balloons tied together. Observers, including military personnel and a C-54 aircraft, clearly identified the nature of the objects.
The initial confusion was common, as the balloons appeared mysterious due to their size and altitude. An F-86 also reported seeing the same phenomenon over Dauphine Island in the Gulf of Mexico. Despite initial discrepancies in descriptions, the final conclusion was clear: there was nothing supernatural, just balloons. This experience helped investigators understand that many UFO sightings could have simple explanations, as in this case.
