🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round object resembling a tire or hubcap was observed in Aripeka, Florida, on February 13, 1956. The witness described it as having bright red and yellow rotating lights and was seen for approximately 10 minutes through binoculars. Initially, it was considered possibly a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon, but it was ultimately concluded to be an aircraft. In fact, it was confirmed that a B-47 and a KC-97 were in the area at the time, though they were not conducting refueling operations. The report suggests the observer likely saw one of these aircraft, which explains the unusual appearance of the object. The vivid description of the object and its lights caused some confusion, but military data helped clarify the situation.
