🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1956, a witness in Beaulieu, Minnesota, reported an object shaped like a basketball slowly descending toward the horizon. Green and red lights were mentioned, typical of aircraft, leading to the possibility of an airplane. However, the report also suggested it could be a balloon, as these tend to disappear when moving away. Although the exact duration wasn't reported, limited data allowed the case to be classified as a probable aircraft sighting.
The report, part of Project 10073, was evaluated by Air Force personnel and includes a single object seen with the naked eye. The witness reliability was considered good, though no photographs or radar were used. The description of the object and its lights, along with its northeast trajectory, caused some confusion between balloon and aircraft. Ultimately, it was concluded to be probably an aircraft, but with insufficient data for a definitive evaluation.
