🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1956, a witness in Grand Maria, Minnesota, observed an object the size of a pumpkin and colored white and blue. The object was seen for 3 to 4 seconds and was believed to have landed in Lake Superior. Although no photos were taken, the report mentions the presence of weather balloons in the area. The sighting was made with the naked eye and the reliability of the witness was considered excellent.
The official conclusion suggested the possibility that the object was a meteor, given the duration and color of the phenomenon. No radar or aerial tracking was recorded, which limited the ability to confirm. Despite the limitations, the report suggested it could be an astronomical phenomenon, closing the investigation without a definitive answer.
