Spherical UFO over Arizona in 1956

Summary

A group of civilians observed a dark spherical object over Sahuarita, Arizona, in February 1956. The object, twice the diameter of a utility pole, moved slowly northward, rising and descending near the horizon. Although observers used binoculars and a movie camera, they couldn't identify it. They called Davis-Monthan Air Base, but got no interest. The official evaluation labeled it "possibly a balloon," though no evidence of a balloon existed in the area. Witnesses returned later, but the object was gone.
