🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A factory worker and his son reported seeing a round object, similar to a basketball, yellow and bright, moving up and down in the southwest quadrant of the sky. The observation lasted about fifty minutes, suggesting the object was not a conventional aircraft or rocket. Despite the duration and clear weather, there was no radar contact, adding mystery to the event. The report concluded it could be a balloon, an astronomical object like Sirius or Venus, or even an aircraft, but no explanation was fully confirmed.
The exact location of the sighting was Bongrock, New Jersey, and the official report classified it as a ground visual observation. Although several possibilities were considered, from balloons to astronomical objects, the lack of additional data and the inability to verify with radar left the situation open to interpretation. The fact that Sirius and Venus are in the southwest quadrant and are very bright was also taken into account, but it did not resolve the mystery of the object seen. The case remains one of those sightings without a definitive explanation.
